Barrios has emerged as a key player for Atletico Madrid this season, having displaced captain Jorge Rezorección Koke and new arrival Conor Gallagher to the bench. At just 21, he has the potential to get even better, and Bayern Munich and Chelsea are reportedly interest in signing the young midfielder, with a fee in the region of €70 million.
However, Bayern faces competition from Chelsea for the 21-year-old, with the Premier League side already willing to spend €70m on Barrios. On top of this, Atleti have no desire to sell the midfielder as he has already become a first-team regular under Diego Simeone.
However, Barrios is still under contract until 2028 and has a €100m release clause. And Atletico Madrid have no plans to let the 21-year-old leave the club and are planning to extend his contract.
This season, Barrios has made 24 appearances across all competitions. The midfielder even got himself sent off against Bayer Leverkusen in their Champions League tie earlier this year.
