Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has backed his old club to sign Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, viewing him as a possible option.

The 22-year-old impressed in the second half of last season when he spent time on loan at Frankfurt before the German side agreed a €16.5 million deal in the summer and has not disappointed, netting 21 goals in 43 games in all competitions to become the club’s top scorer so far.
With the Reds looking สมัครสมาชิก UFABET วันนี้ รับเครดิตฟรีทุกวัน for a reliable centre-forward after the disappointment of Darwin Nunez, Carragher has suggested he is a possible option.
“There’s a young lad from Eintracht Frankfurt, Ekitike, I think he’s the type of player Liverpool would sign,” Carragher told the Called Soccer podcast.
“He’s 22, he’s at a club where you’d think they’d sell players. He did very well there – he went to Paris Saint-Germain when he was very young after showing in the French league as a youngster and it didn’t work out well.”
“But he’s so young, he’s got great stats and it looks to me like he’s the type of player Liverpool would sign rather than Isak.”
Ekitike’s under-lying numbers are cause for concern and at this kind of hefty price-tag, supporters will be getting flashbacks of Nunez.
As a result, it now feels imperative that Liverpool go all in and ensure they can sign top target Isak.
